I don't believe in inflicting strong beliefs on my kids, but rather to give them plenty of options to help them make their own decisions later in life - just as my parents did with me. That includes vegetarianism - I was a veggie for 16 years, but lapsed 5 years or so ago. When my six year old asked where sausages came from, I told her the whole story - not in graphic detail, but every step of the journey from the pig to the plate. She seemed relatively unfazed, but does ask to have meat free meals on occasion, and that's why I bought this book - veggie breakfast to me used to mean cereal, toast or eggs!
It's nice to read a personal recipe book for a change, and Katie introduces each simple to follow meal with an evocative tale from Texas. There are a wide variety of hot and cold breakfast here, from easy to prepare oatmeals and porridges, pancakes, muffins, smoothies, bagels and even an Apple Coleslaw - yum!

Vegetarian Breakfast The 15Minute Vegetarian Book 1 edition by Katie Everett Cookbooks Food Wine eBooks Reviews
Stuck in a rut in your morning routine. The author offers good healthy alternatives to boring breakfasts. Tasty smoothies and snack ideas are great for someone trying to make better food choices or someone needing some variety
I got this book because I gave up meat for Lent. It has been hard finding how to cook for me and yet how the family wants. I love some days and others crave the meat. This book gave me a start. I do wish it had less sugar filled recipes. Loved the commentary. And couldn't agree more over bananas and peanut butter being a go to must!
This is a neat and easy to read recipe book! Love the personal comments by the author - felt like I was in her kitchen with her. All the recipes are easy to follow - and some have pictures which is helpful! I am not a vegetarian but that doesn't preclude me using these recipes for my own family. Any new suggestions to offer up is always welcome. I think I'll surprise my 2 kids tomorrow with the Hot Maple Grits!
I love that there are pictures with many of these recipes. Keep in mind this is vegetarian not vegan. I enjoyed what I've seen so far and the recipes do look fairly simple.
I most often use cookbooks as inspiration rather than as carved in stone road maps. This little book is a fun read. Glad I chose it.
I've always made microwave old fashioned oatmeal using milk rather than water, and I like my oatmeal to be really thick rather than a porridge. Katie's chocolate oatmeal and Southern Summer oatmeal with peaches sound delicious!
I downloaded this book for free with very little expectations. I was blown away. These are great, easy recipes for people with little time in the mornings. The format is easy to use and the recipes have very clear instructions.
Although I do not eat wheat, I was able to find lots of other recipes to enjoy and I can easily adapt the wheaty recipes to make something I can eat. I love the variety of flavors that are included in these meals.
Anyone should be able to get some inspiration from this book. Eating a vegetarian diet does not have to be complicated or tasteless, and Katie Everett proves it.
Although I'm not a vegetarian, and not likely to become one, I am trying to eat healthy. I also like a lot of variety and meals that are a little out of the ordinary.
This well formatted (love the clickable index) book certainly has breakfast recipes to satisfy everyone - quick and easy - healthy - tasty - different.
Being a hot cereal fan, so far my favorite recipe is the Wheat Berry Oatmeal. When my rhubarb comes in I'm planning to try the Spiced Rhubarb Oatmeal as well.
This book fits the bill for quick, easy and healthful breakfast recipes - whether you're a vegetarian or not.
