"Extremely powerful read---the truth is I feel wholeheartedly connected with these characters and their story. I think everyone should read this book, especially those who enjoy angst, as this story is FILLED with it.."
~Katie Love Romance Books"It's been a LONG time since I've savored a story. This book was beyond amazing...it was more than words can describe. It flowed beautifully and was written masterfully. This was my first historical romance and I cannot wait to read books 2 & 3."
~Bethany HEA BookshelfHow do you fight against fate? You don't. You can't. You can only surrender to fate in Jacelyn Rye's new release!
Some say fate holds the cards. But what if love deals the hand? No love goes untested. Ever. Indeed, true love is left to prove itself. And that is exactly where fate steps in to play the game.
For William and Sarah, that game begins with growing up, in the unspoiled mountains of Colorado. In a time and space as clear as the Rocky Mountain skies above, these young souls together learn about life, what matters most, what endures, what doesn’t, and about love. Innocent young love moves ever so surely toward lives they both can picture, lives spent loving each other in a place they know so well and cherish.
Will and Sarah are ecstatically swept away in the swells of new love. And it is in their rarefied bliss that they make the fragile promise of first love, a promise that fate will soon rock and pound into doubt, guilt, and epiphany.
Unexpected and unprepared, these young lovers are suddenly torn apart, first by distance, and then by the far greater pressures of temptation that test the very fidelity of their heart-held promise. No longer able to console each other, hold each other, touch each other, they face the inevitable decision move on to other loves, or cling to the faith that they will someday be together, again.
Will and Sarah stare down an unknown path, sensing destiny will not wait long before it comes to take them. Wracked with doubt, they wonder if their love was real. Caged by guilt, they both feel tempted by others intent on stealing their hearts.
Fate plays hardest when love is tested. And Will and Sarah are no exception, letting go of their happy past to embrace hope for an uncharted future. Love plays hardest when fate tests. And so it is, even through their trials of the heart, Will and Sarah never really stop loving each other. Theirs is a love so real and pure that each just wants the other to find happiness, even if it's with another.
But fate does not surrender so easily. Dealing blow upon blow, both Will and Sarah are each struck by jolting events that take them to the very edge of life, itself.
Sarah and Will hold tightly to their past, but steadfast promises begin to wane. Life continues, filled with romance, drama, and two souls yearning to understand the challenges brought with coming of age, and learning that fate is ultimately in control. What happens to love when life is on the line? Can they both relinquish control when love is on the line? Will fate even allow them to find out?

Do I believe in Fate? Yes, yes I do I believe. I believe that we are meant to be with one person(if you see yourself going through relationships is because your soul knows this is not it's mate.) And that we are all meant to be someone in this life. Fate and Destiny go hand in hand, because we are destine to be with that one person who can make our hearts race, our breath stop for a second and make our bodies rumble with just one look one touch or one kiss and if you think about it so does "FATE".As we all know by now that I will be 100% honest with you and our reviews. And if you have read any of my reviews I can be a complete tease because I will not spoil you the thrill and the love of reading a fantastic book.
Fate takes us on a journey of Sarah and Will two childhood friends. Where we see instantly that the love that Sarah feels for Will is so innocent strong and beautifully pure. As we all know when we have a couple fated to be with one another we feel the heartache of all the obstacles and events that step in and step up roadblocks on our fated couple. But as you will know I have a heart and when I read a book I mentally will act out the book in my head and therefore will feel the emotions, the tears (I had my ugly moments *spoiler moment may need tissue*), the laughs and every meaningful moment that is shared between both Sarah and Will.
We find ourselves in the 1940's where we meet a young woman who is secretly in love with her childhood friend name Will. Never noticing the signs Sarah never once saw that Will too felt the same for her and the he too was deeply in love with her. Before they can ever truly express how they feel for one another our fated couple run into their first obstacle where Sarah has to move due to economical reasons. But since this is Sarah and Will we are talking about and a Fated love lets start with one little bitty spoiler(a promise is made between one another, this is a tugging of the hearts and overflowing tear ducts moment). Again if you go back to what I mentioned above I mentally role play and act out the books I read, the more emotional charged books the more emotion and heart the more I am going to feel and cry. It's a really raw emotional impact for me.
Once settled into her new home and with time and space between them both Will and Sarah find themselves questioning their love for one another. Especially when new people start to enter their new lives. If you can imagine what questions like Is our love strong enough to survive this? Would we ever really see one another ever again? And remember time and space is not the friend here especially when new people begin to enter their lives (remember I have mentioned this already).
We meet non to friendly characters which if I mention their names you will be swayed by my dislike for them (her whatever you get my point).
The author did a fantastic job with this story and with both Will and Sarah (again I'm a complete tease and I am proud of it, I want you to love a book and feel the words by me telling you, you will not be able to enjoy both so there.) But as easy as it would have been for the author to magically write and easy road to love then it will defeat the purpose of having two bodies two hearts two souls become one.
MAJOR NOTE small spoiler BIG HUGE CLIFF HANGER i said to much already!!!!!!

Surrender to Fate Part One of Fate Path edition by Jacelyn Rye Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This story is amazing! I almost didn't read it because of the time frame...it starts in 1939...and I just wasn't sure I would be able to get into it. Well, I was completely wrong. This is one of the most well told stories jammed packed with every emotion possible that you feel as you read it. Sarah and Will's families are so close and they all grow up together and are young loves only to be torn apart when Sarah's family must move to CA to simply survive. They pledge their love to each other but because of the distance...you guessed it, they are not able to stay in touch. Enter Margaret...who you just want to slap. And, there were times I wanted to slap Will too. Wow, lots of angst and heartbreak but its so believable. Honestly, what a great read. My only complaint is that it is a cliffhanger...and a big one. I don't know if I would have read it if I knew that. Of course, I now cannot wait for the rest of the series but I am not purchasing the 2nd book until the others are out or I at least know when they will be available as I would rather have the wholes story. I do understand why SO MANY authors are doing this but honestly, I think you can do a series and still not have such dramatic cliffhangers. If this wasn't a cliffhanger, honestly, I would rate this book as a 10 stars!
Surrender to Fate, Book 1 in Fate’s Path Series by Jacelyn Rye is a very good story that I really enjoyed but felt that there were just a couple of things “off” for me. This a tough review for me to write not because I didn’t like the book but because I really liked it, liked it as in…I devoured it but at the end I felt unsettled, like something just didn’t feel right.
Surrender to Fate, starts off really sweet and innocent and pulls you right into the story. At the beginning I felt it had a “Little House on the Prairie” vibe to it and I really fell in love with the tone of the story and the characters.
Hard times hit the families and tough decisions must be made. Sarah and Will are separated and learn that love isn’t always enough and that life goes on regardless of what your heart feels. It is at this point that the tone changes for me. I realize some of it is the characters are changing from teenagers into adults but it seemed like the sex scenes were a little too graphic for the tone that the story initially started with. The scenes are well written but for me they just felt out of place for Sarah’s character.
The only other thing that I think added to my “unsettled” feelings was the ending. I am not one that has a problem with cliffhangers. I honestly expect them in most of the stories that I read and I’m okay with that. But Surrender to Fate didn’t really feel like a cliffhanger to me. It felt more like it was just paused and I was honestly wondering if I was missing some pages or that I might have missed something.
With that being said, I want to let you know that the story is wonderful and I am definitely planning on reading the second book and the third in this series. The author has a definite gift for bringing vivid details and emotion to her stories that allows the reader to connect with her characters and their struggles.
